Around 30 years ago, I discovered Alderney and fell in love with this small island. Every time I come here, I am fascinated with its nature. I can feel the energy of the sea strongly and can see its many landscapes with a myriad of colours harmonizing with different textures. Alderney is a big inspiration for my art work. It is a very important place for me and I couldn't imagine life without itβ€” after so many years I feel home here. All seasons have their special expressions and beauties which intensively touch my eyes and feelings that all contribute to my creative process.

In my artistic work, there are expressive areas and dynamic lines that play together to find an abstraction out of nature. In this process, I look for organic forms and structures to translate into colours, lines and special compositions. Through this method of creation, the viewer discovers rooms of colour – the process of painting becomes the subject of my artistic work. As a result, one can understand the process of creating and developing. This method of creation is an important subject of my painting process which results in the final work of art. At the end, a new reality is born. Colours and structures touch on feelings of the viewer, who will find individual ways of seeing and enjoying it.

The Rock Group brings together creative people with similar thoughts and feelings about Alderney whilst encouraging each artist's personal expression. They are open to discover and enjoy different views of stunning nature here on Alderney. The Rock Group and their people can inspire and support each other for their personal artistic journeys.
